2015 Aston Township Memorial Day Parades and Ceremonies

American Legion Post 87 and VFW Post 6613 on the north end of town and the American Legion Post 926 on the South side. Read more

Aston Township Police Officer Thomas J. Giancristoforo, Jr., during the May 20 meeting of the Aston Board of Commissioners, was presented a proclamation and recognized as Police Officer of the Year.

Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Extend Invitation for Service to Honor Sr. Dorothy Stang, SND; the “Martyr of the Amazon.”

SR. Dorothy StangThe Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur invite you to a celebration of Sr. Dorothy Stang, a courageous SND who on Feb. 12, 2005 was murdered by men who wanted to stop her work on behalf of the poor farming families in Apapu, Brazil.

The event will take place 1-3 p.m., June 6 at the Franciscan Spiritual Center, 609 S. Convent Road, Aston.

A PowerPoint presentation on Sr. Dorothy will be followed by a brief discussion and reception.

Sister Anne McCafferty, SND, spent 11 years as a chaplain at the Fair Aces Geriatric Center in Middletown, and was so moved by her experiences with the elderly and infirm that she decided to share them in a book titled “Blessings: Reflections of a Chaplain to the Elderly.”

Now retired, Sr. Anne uses her book to honor the lives of the Fair Acres residents and staff to whom she ministered and worked in an atmosphere that she describes as “compassionate and loving.” Read more

DCIU Land Development – Conditional Use Hearing

The Aston Township Board of Commissioners has established the following date with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit to continue public hearing for review of the conditional use as proposed in the current DCIU land development proposal.

The Conditional Use Hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 beginning at 7:00 PM in the Aston Township Commissioner’s Meeting Room located in the Aston Township Municipal Building at 5021 Pennell Road. This meeting will be open to the public.
