Independence Day Celebration Rescheduled to Sunday, July 10th

The Aston Township Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display and been rescheduled until Sunday July 10th due to expected bad weather.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION & FIREWORKS AT SUN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL!

Aston Township Board of Commissioners is happy to announce that they will be hosting the 2016 Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks display on Sunday, July 10th beginning at 7pm behind Sun Valley High School.

The party will start at 7:00 p.m. with a DJ, so if you would like to get there early and get a good seat, BRING A LAWN CHAIR. The fireworks show will begin at dusk, which will be around 9:15pm. Come out and join the Aston community in celebrating the 4th of July and the beautiful firework display that comes with it.

SPECIAL NOTICE

No parking will be available in the Northley parking lot due to ongoing construction work.

Aston Police K-9 Jax was recognized on the event of his retirement by the Aston Board of Commissioners,  township residents, representatives of the Penn-Delco School District and Neumann University during the June 15 commissioners meeting.

Jax was on-hand for the ceremony with his handler, Officer Mikell Jones, who has been Jax’s partner from the day he arrived. Read more

Aston Commissioners, during the June 15 meeting, via proclamation, honored township police officer Joseph Hart as 2015 Police Officer of the Year.

Hart, the son of Joseph, Sr. and Dale Hart, is a graduate of Sun Valley High School and the Delaware County Community College Municipal Police Academy. Read more

Aston Commissioners unanimously appointed William McConville as township manager, effective June 1.

McConville was born in Philadelphia and moved to Milmont Park at the age of two. He is a graduate of St. James High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in management and economics from Widener University. Read more
