Dear Residents of Aston:

On behalf of the Board of Commissioners and all the employees of Aston Township, we would like to welcome you to the neighborhood. The purpose of this letter is to inform you that we are here working for you and that we help provide many of the wonderful services and amenities the township has to offer. Moving to a new area can be a busy and stressful time for anyone. We understand that and have included some important information to help get you started on your way.

First and foremost, the website www.astontownship.net ,Aston TV Cable Channel (channel 5 on Comcast, channel 45 on Verizon Fios), and the Aston Township Newsletter are great places to get up to the minute information about the goings on in the township. The website, as you may already know, has a lot of information. Don’t be overwhelmed, just save us to your favorites and refer back anytime you need to or want to find out more about your new home. The links section can be a great resource as well as it houses links to many organizations within the township. Even though the website offers much information about the township we also understand that sometimes you will want to speak to someone to get your information. Feel free to contact our friendly staff during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm at (610) 494-1636. They will be glad to help answer any of your questions about the township and its services.

In Aston, the local governing body consists of 7 Commissioners, one from each Ward. Want to know what Ward you are in? Click on the Maps of Aston Link and check out the Ward Map. Then go to the Committees, Boards, and Commissioners Tab to find out more about your Wards Commissioner and what committees he or she heads. Feel free to contact them with any of your questions, comments, concerns, or for ways to get involved in the community.

One important part of managing your new home is the disposal of trash and recyclable items. While some homes may have private trash pickup, the bulk of the homes in the township have trash and recycling picked up by the Public Works Department. The information about what day your pick-up is, along with other important information, can be found under the Department and Services Section of this site. Another great tool Aston Township offers its residents is the annual Aston Township Calendar. This calendar provides a wealth of information to the residents. You can pick one up when you get your recycling sticker, which is available, free of charge to anyone who has collection by the Public Works Department.

Throughout the year Aston Township and many of its wonderful organizations and people put on an assortment of programs for the residents: Easter Egg Hunts, July 4th Fireworks, an annual parade and Community Day, a children’s Winter Fun Festival, and many programs put on at the Aston Library and Community Center just to name a few. With its convenient access to routes to Philadelphia and Wilmington, and its community feel, Aston is a great place to live, work, and play. We hope you enjoy it here as much as we do.

Sincerely,
Bill DeFeo, Aston Township Manager
