Upcoming Township Projects Meeting – May 21, 2018

The Board of Commissioners recently obtained funding to complete projects that we felt needed to be addressed in our Township. We are asking the residents for their comments on the below listed projects.  This is our community and all of us should have the chance to give input to move our Township forward. The following projects have a budget and preliminary design, but we would like ideas from the residents while going forward with them.

Community Center:  –  $ 650,000

  • New roof, HVAC System, Expansion, Lounge Area Improvements, Etc.

Pennell Road Trestle  –  $ 50,000

  • Painting of the Trestle

Special Needs Playground (Smiles in the Playground)  –   $ 200,000

  • Design, Play System, Components and Fall Area

A meeting is scheduled for May 21, 2018, 7PM at the Township Building. We look forward to seeing you there!

9th Annual Fishing Derby

Come out and join The Lenni Athletic Club as they present the 9th Annual Fishing Derby!  The Derby will be held on Saturday April 28, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with registration beginning at 8:15 a.m.  The Derby will be held at Louis Fisher Park, located on Mount Road in Aston and is open to children ages 4 to 12.  It is requested LIVE BAIT ONLY be used.  There will be food, fun, prizes and trophies handed out!!

4th Annual Aston Clean Up Day

Help keep Aston Beautiful by joining your neighbors and cleaning up your local common areas and parks on Saturday, April 21st,   9 a.m. to 11 a.m.! Park Clean Up Sites are as follows:

Aston Valley View, Bridgewater Farms Park, Collins Park, Concord Square Park, Lewis H. Fisher Park, North Lamp Post Lane Park, Poore Park, Savage Park, Township Community Center and Woodbrook Park.

Aston Township Fire Department Spring Carnival

The Aston Township Fire Department Spring Carnival is back.  It will begin on Wednesday, April 18th and run until Saturday, April 21st, from 6pm to 10pm each night.

Due to the carnival being closed on the scheduled first night Tuesday (17th), the amusement company has agreed to open two (2) hours early on SATURDAY (21st). They will now be open on SATURDAY from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Carnival, which is held on the grounds of the Aston Township Fire Department at 2900 W. Duttons Mill Rd., is the ideal event to not only support your local fire company but to bring the family out for some food, fun and games.

FAMILY NIGHTS: Wednesday April 18th – Ride all rides for $20 per person and Thursday April 19th – Ride all rides for $20 per person.  MEGA PASSES: Ride all rides all week for $45 per person.

Rockdale Art District Open House – April 28, 2018

Come out and celebrate the arts at the Rockdale Art Districts Open House on Saturday, April 28, 10am-4pm. Rockdale Art Center will host activities for families and music by Makin’ Music Rockin Rhythms. Dutchman Fountains will have fountains and statuary on display and for purchase. And Heron Crest Studios will have open artist studios with artwork for sale. There will be food and music throughout the day.

Aston Township Shredding Event

Aston Township will be holding their annual shredding event on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  This event is held at the Aston Township Community Center, 3270 Concord Road. Aston, Pa 19014.

The shredding event is for Aston Township Residents ONLY.
