All permits are the responsibility of the owner of the property.
Permits MUST be posted prior to the start of the work.

 In 2013 the Aston Township Building and Code department has been revamped and restructured to include a Third Party Building Code Official, Pennoni Associates. The addition of Pennoni Associaties serving in this capacity gives the Township the advantage of acquiring countless years of experience, an abundance of knowledge, and a variety of talented individuals to ensure that all projects that fall under the jurisdiction of the UCC are given the utmost attention. Individuals from Pennoni Associates will serve hand and hand with the current Code Enforcement Staff and all Township employees to ensure that the department is actively enforcing the Ordinances of the Township.

Mondays:  9:00 am to 11:30 am   &   1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
Tuesdays: 9:00 am to 11:30 am, No Afternoon Hours
Wednesdays: No Morning Hours, 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
Thursdays: 9:00 am to 11:30 am, No Afternoon Hours
Fridays: No Window Hours, Appointment Only

Do you have a list of contractors that do work in the area?

Yes the Building / Code Department can provide you a complete list of local contractors via email, fax, or U.S. Mail.

What do I do if I notice a vacant home?

If you have a concern and believe a property to be vacant please contact the Code Department immediately at 610-494-0384. 

How much does a permit cost?

Permit fees are 2% of the total cost of the work to be performed.  We extend a discount to residents over the age of 62 years of age, and widows and widowers age 50 and over.  This discount is available once per calendar year and eliminates the permit fee for work performed up to $7500.00.

What work do I need a Building / Code permit for?

Permits are required for any alteration, repair, replacement, removal of any building or structure, driveways, sidewalks and curbing, retaining walls, sheds, fences, and such per the Aston Township Ordinance.  This excludes painting, carpet, flooring, and interior surface work.
