Aston Township, a First-Class Township in southwest Delaware County, Pennsylvania is seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of Township Manager. The Township Manager is the Chief Administrative and Operating Officer of the Township with responsibility for all Township operations, including Administration, Code Enforcement, Land Development, Public Works, Finance, Township Parks, and the Community Center Complex. In addition to successfully administering the policies and programs established by the seven-member Board of Commissioners, the position requires a high degree of management competence in financial analysis, accounting procedures, budgeting, and a general knowledge of municipal finance in Pennsylvania.
To qualify for this leadership position, the ideal candidate should have three to five years progressive experience as an Assistant Township Manager, Township Manager or a related government position with a First Class or Second-Class Township or Borough, preferably in Delaware County. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in public administration, finance or a related field is required with a master’s degree in public administration preferred. The Board will also consider additional experience to offset educational requirements. Applicants must be a current resident of Delaware County, Pennsylvania or be willing to relocate
to Delaware County within six months of appointment.
