Who Do We Help?

Neighbors Helping Neighbors has been setup to give temporary relief to  families in Aston Township that have  little or no means of support. The  families we currently help, have fallen  on tough times and may be out of work  due to injuries, or have lost their jobs due to downsizing, but are currently  pursuing employment. Our goal is to  help people during their time of job  searching to minimize their stress.

If you or someone you know is in need of some help, call or email our program coordinator:

Maggie Berry:  610-459-2122
Our program coordinators go through great lengths to maintain
the anonymity of  program applicants and recipients.
The names and  private information of applicants and recipients is kept strictly confidential.

How Do We Do It?

We do it with the help of our community. Neighbors like you, who are committed to look after each other. We encourage local businesses, sports organizations, fire companies, veterans groups, Girl Scout & Boy Scout Troops, Pre-Schools as well as individuals to get involved, in hopes that it will build a stronger community. With their help, food drives, toy drives, hat & mitten
trees and various fund raising programs have allowed us to help our neighbors. If your group would like to host a food drive, just let us know!

What Services Do We Offer

There are a number of different programs in place that can help during various times of the year.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food PantryFood Pantry – Monthly Food
Distributions are given to families that qualify. There is an application & interview process that must be completed before  distributions can begin. We determine need based on income, what assistance you may currently get, how many people are in
the home, dependents, pets, etc. All information shared with us remains strictly confidential and is not shared with anyone else. All applicants are given a number to protect their anonymity once they are approved. Each applicant is then reviewed every 6
months to determine if assistance should continue.

The Holiday Toy Drive
The Holiday Toy Drive is conducted in the Fall with the help of many local businesses. Bins are placed in various locations including the Fire Houses, Township Building and Community Center. These toys are then distributed to Aston families with children. You must be an Aston resident to qualify. In addition to the toy drive, we encourage local organizations & businesses to help by sponsoring families at Christmas time. If your business or organization would like to help, please contact us for more information.

Holiday Meals
Holiday Meals are provided for the families that receive assistance from the Food Pantry each month. A prepared meal is purchased from Giant at Thanksgiving & Christmas time for each family and given to them courtesy of the Aston Business Association.

Dine Out In Aston
Each year, in the Fall, the ABA hosts a “Dine Out in Aston” event. Money raised from this event, funds the meals for our families. Businesses donate proceeds to benefit the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program.

Ways To Donate

Neighbors Helping Neighbors is not a non profit organization. It is operated by volunteers and neighbors who give their time to help others.

One of our amazing volunteer groups are shoppers who make their dollars stretch by using coupons. Their ability to get super deals is our gain because they donate their excess to the pantry. This has allowed us to build the pantry’s inventory.

We also rely on your donations dropped off by those of you who watch the Facebook Page and then shop for the
items we post. We are grateful for your community participation.

You can also donate gift cards from local businesses such as Giant, Shoprite, Walmart, Target, etc.

Last but not least, we also accept checks to help curb the cost of shopping for our families. Make your check out to “Aston Business Association”. In the memo line, please write NHN and mail to:
