Aston Township Community Day

Community Day begins with a parade from Neumann University (Neumann Drive) starting at 9:00 am (check-in 8:00 am). The parade will proceed along Concord Road to the Aston Township Community Center . The parade will feature local community groups and organizations, as well as, musical entertainment.

Inside the community center, the Annual Business Expo will be held for all Aston businesses and organizations interested in displaying their products and services. Other community festivities will be held outside. There will be free rides sponsored by Bette’s Bounces, games, food, drinks and contests for everyone to enjoy.

Community Day Parade

Be a part of your community’s history as we kick off Aston Township Community Day. We will begin the day with the annual parade from Neumann University beginning at 9:00 am and proceed south on Concord Road where it will be joined by the bike contest participants at the Big Lots Store parking lot and continue south on Concord Road to the Community Center where the Community Day festivities and the Aston Business Expo will begin. Any business or community group in Aston Township is invited to participate in the parade. Community Day Parade (not the bike contest) line up begins at 8:00 am at Neumann University (Concord Road entrance). Any persons or groups wishing to participate in the parade must pre-register with parade coordinator Nancy Bowden.

Neumann University Proudly Presents

Bike Decorating and Safety Rodeo Contest

Kids in three age groups, 0 to 3, 4 to 7 and 8 to 12, can participate in the parade by decorating their bikes, wagons and strollers and riding along the parade route for all to see.

Themed Decorating Contest

Each year a theme is selected for the parade. Use your creativity powers to decorate your “ride” to the theme. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorations in each age group. There will also be a Bike Safety Rodeo prior to the parade. Whether you’re fast or slow and steady you can participate in the Safety Rodeo which includes; Bicycle Safety Inspection; Bicycle Safety Talk; Obstacle Course; Goody Bags! Bike will join the parade from Big Lots to the Community Center.

Wrist bands

Wrist bands can be purchased in advance for a donation of $3.00 each at the Community Center, beginning September 1st through Friday before the event. Wristbands purchased during the day of the event will be $4.00 each. Proof of Aston residency is needed at the time of purchase.
