More than 500 excited Aston children gathered on the field behind the Community Center on March 19 to participate in the township’s annual Easter Egg hunt.
Carrying brightly decorated baskets, bags and buckets, the children spent little time collecting the 13,000 Easter Eggs which dotted the field.
As in years past, the hunt was organized by age groups so that all children had the opportunity to collect eggs.
“We came last year and my children had a great time,” said Marianne Rhyne. “Aston always does such fun things for the kids.
Hosted by the township Parks and Recreation Board, in addition to the hunt itself, the event featured an outside Easter Bunny who happily posed for pictures, gift bags, pretzels, hot dogs, water, lemonade, and an inside Easter Bunny who posed with township children in formal pictures.
Wawa was also on hand and provided coffee for adult hunt attendees.
“I had a lot of fun today,” said six-year-old Anna Widen. “I liked the hot dogs the best and I got some eggs with candy in them too.”
