Bill and Ann Nixon with Commissioner Mike Higgins

Aston Commissioner Mike Higgins, October 15, on behalf of the board, presented a proclamation to 60 year township residents Bill and Ann Nixon, on the event of their 60th wedding anniversary.

The Nixon’s were married on October 15, 1955 and purchased their home in Aston Township the very same year.

While raising their children Janice and Jay, the couple was involved with the Aston Elementary School PTL.

Currently, Bill and Ann have three grandchildren and are enjoying retirement.

Bill remains involved with the Disabled American Veterans,  American Legion Post #87, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and has been a member of Penn Lodge for 68 years.

Ann is a member of American Legion Post #87 Women’s Auxiliary.

After being presented with their proclamation, Ann expressed appreciation to the board of commissioners and said she and Bill liked living in Aston.

“When we have problems, they get solved,” she said proudly.
