New Community Center Floors

  The Aston Community Center is making a huge upgrade in its gymnasium, switching the older, harder grey floors with brand new wooden ones. The new wood floor at the community center is a joint effort by the township and Aston Athletic Association. These brand new, maple floors are going to go a long way in helping make the gym look a lot nicer, as well as making the experience of the Aston A.A. participants much more enjoyable and less injury-prone.   With summertime fast approaching, grass, weeds, and overgrowth have the potential to become a problem in the community. According to an ordinance put into place last summer, weeds and grass that grow into the sidewalks, curbs, and streets of Aston is not allowed. This ordinance was put in place for the town’s appearance as well as to keep the health risks that high grass carries, such as mosquitoes and the West Nile Virus. The Aston township Building and Code department has been revamped to help better support you the residents. The restructuring of the department has allowed for township employees to spend more time out in the community checking up on permits, getting to know the contractors, residents, and developing a working relationship with the community. PECO is urging customers to be aware of a scam that continues to target customers in the Philadelphia area. The scam, which has been reportedly taking place throughout the country, claims that customers are behind on their account and must make immediate payment to avoid service termination. Customers are being asked to purchase a pre-paid debit card, in random amounts, from local pharmacies or convenience stores. The customer is then directed to contact a number to utilize the card for immediate payment to their account. Weekly Recycling Continues in 2013

The Aston Township Board of Commissioners is proud to announce that the Township will continue with weekly recycling pickup for 2013. The choice was made after the numbers for Single Stream Recycling have increased drastically month over month and year over year.
