Aston Township Parks Master Plan Aston is blessed with an exceptional park system.  Most residents can walk to a park within five (5) minutes from their home.  This is an exceptional value to our residents. The Township Wide Park Study will  become the blue print for park improvements in the future. The document will be used to support grant application for funding to support necessary park improvements. Vision Plan Implementation Committee

The Board of Commissioners is seeking volunteers to assist the Township engineer and administration to prepare amendments to the Aston Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and Sub-Division Land Development that will form the frame work for the implementation of the Aston Vision Plan. (See the scope of work below) It is anticipated that the initial phase of the work will begin in March and that the final documents would be considered by the Board of Commissioners at the end of 2015. The Board of Commissioners has established a volunteer committee to assist the Township engineer and administration to prepare the Aston Township Parks Master Plan. (See the scope of work below) The first Park Master Plan Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 5th, at 7:00pm in the Aston Township Commissioners Meeting Room at 5021 Pennell Road. There will be at least three committee meetings and two (2) public meetings. Aston Township Awarded $1 million StreetScape Improvement Grant

Aston Commissioners President Jim Stigale accepts a check in the amount of $1 million from Kevin Andrews, chief-of-staff for Pa. State Rep. Joe Hackett, R-161. The funds will be used toward a StreetScape initiative in the township. Valley View Park Renovation Project

Aston Township has made application for a Greenways, Trails, and Recreational Program (GTRP) Grant through the Commonwealth Financing Authority for restoration of Valley View Park. Valley View Park (aka Vinsmith Park) located in the Township’s Seventh Ward comprises 3.024 acres of open space land, most of which is grassy areas. The park is completely surrounded by predominantly ranch homes on Vinsmith, Edgar and Raymond Avenues, and Stella Lane, with the main entrance at Vinsmith and Bonsall Avenues.
