(update 3/11/14) At the request of the Aston Township Board of Commissioners, the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (the “DCIU”) held a public meeting on February 4th during which time they received a significant amount of constructive feedback that caused the DCIU to request a continuance of the February 19th Conditional Use Hearing to afford the DCIU ample opportunity for review and consideration. At this time, the DCIU has again requested continuance of the Conditional Use Hearing previously scheduled for Wednesday, March 19th and all related matters. Upcoming April 2013 Events at Neumann University The Cultural Arts Forum’s Annual High Tea The ladies of the Cultural Arts Forum at Neumann University will host their annual High Tea on Sunday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at the Austin Room on 3729 Chichester Avenue in Upper Chichester, PA. Entertainment this year will be provided by Rene Goodwin and Ed Hagopian, who will present Ladies of Musical Note. The High Tea is a relaxing afternoon among family and friends while dining on scones, tasty sandwiches and delicious desserts. Admission is $35. Reservations are required. Here in Aston Township we believe that to truly benefit the community we need to offer programs for residents of all ages. That being said, Senior Community Services has released the Spring 2013 course offerings from the Center for Life Learning. These programs are designed and offered for individuals ages 50 and over. The areas of study offered for the spring include: Art & Design, Driver Education, Literature, Fitness, Health and Wellness, and Senior Topics. The 2011 Tree Lighting was a huge success thanks to the extra efforts of the Citizen’s Advisory Committee and the donation of time and resources from local businesses and residents! This year’s event was expanded to include Free family friendly game and activities, snacks, and a visit from Santa. The Library also added to the fun by inviting Mr. Malcom to read The Polar Express. Perhaps most significantly, the event was moved to a Friday evening, which organizers suspect encouraged a much greater turnout than in years past. 11th Annual Aston Township Community Day is scheduled for Saturday October 6, 2012 The 11th annual Aston Township/ABA Community Day celebration will be held at the Community Center on 3270 Concord Road on Saturday October 6, with a rain date of October 7. Community Day kicks off at 11:00 AM with a parade which starts at Neumann University and proceeds down Concord Road.
