By Loretta Rodgers Patriot’s Day 2014 The Aston Township community gathered Sept. 11 at the Memorial Gardens at Five Points to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Hosted by Township Boy Scout Troops 225 and 292, Girl Scout Troop 57075 and members of American Legion Post #926, the program included speeches, dedication of a wreath, readings, and memorials. (update 3/11/14) At the request of the Aston Township Board of Commissioners, the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (the “DCIU”) held a public meeting on February 4th during which time they received a significant amount of constructive feedback that caused the DCIU to request a continuance of the February 19th Conditional Use Hearing to afford the DCIU ample opportunity for review and consideration.
