2014 Citizen of the Year

The Aston Board of Commissioners, during the September 17 meeting, named Eric DeLellis as the 2014 Aston Township Citizen of the Year.

DeLellis is a 1985 graduate of Sun Valley High School and and received a bachelors degree in environmental engineering in 1993 graduate from Lock Haven University.

A resident of the township since 2003, DeLellis currently serves as vice chairman of the township’s zoning hearing board,and is a member of the Veteran’s Memorial Garden committee.

DeLellis also volunteers his time as vice president of the Sun Valley High School Hockey Club.

A Captain in the Army Reserves, DeLellis was deployed to Iraq where he served from 2003-2004 in Baghdad. He was again deployed in 2009 as a major and served in Kuwait and Afghanistan.

In January of 2014 he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Married to Teri, DeLellis is the father of three children: Eric, Jr., Bailey and Madison.

Members of the board of commissioners, at the conclusion of the meeting, took turns congratulating DeLellis on his selection as Citizen of the Year. He will be honored at Aston Township Community Day, which will take place October 4.
