Aston Commissioners, October 15, presented a proclamation to the 2014 9-10 year old Pa. Little League Champion Aston Middletown baseball team in recognition of their achievement.
Commissioner Jim McGinn read the proclamation praising the team members and coaches on their accomplishment of becoming the first 9-10 year-old team in the history of the Aston Middletown Little League to win the Pennsylvania State title.
The team experienced an incredible summer by first rolling through District 19 by winning four games, scoring a total of 64 runs and only allowing seven to be scored against them.
In the sectionals, they again went undefeated. The team then traveled to Perkasie, Pa. to compete for the state title, and on June 28, they claimed victory with a 9-7 win.
Members of the championship team include Brendan Duffy, Jimmy Hallinan, Jake Moule, Christian Reed, Quinten Perilli, Sam Benvignati, Nick Chelo, Brett Bonebrake, Shane Holefelder, Colin Flaherty, Nikko Partsinakis, Roman Tozzi and Nick McHugh.
Coaches include Chris Chelo, Mike Flagherty, Cliff Reed and Jim McConnell.
