During a special reorganization meeting held Jan. 4, James Stigale and Michael Higgins were unanimously re-elected president and vice president of the township board of commissioners, respectively.

Magisterial District Judge Diane Holefelder presided over swearing-in ceremonies for re-elected Commissioners Michael Higgins (7th Ward), Mark Osborn (3rd Ward), as well as new 1st Ward Commissioner Michael Link.

Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Senior Judge Patricia H. Jenkins presided over swearing-in ceremonies for 5th Ward Commissioner James McGinn, who is serving an unprecedented 10th term as township commissioner.

The board approved the following appointments and re-appointments:  John Granger, township manager and right-to know officer; Richard D. Lehr, secretary; Elizabeth Naughton-Beck, solicitor; Hugh Donaghue, alternate solicitor; Joe Viscuso, engineer; Nicholas Cirilli, alternate engineer; Robert Ellis, building code officer; Joseph DeVuono, treasurer; Georgiana treasurer; Thomas Morgan, fire marshal; and Sean Joyce and Joseph Billie, assistant fire marshal’s.

Also, DR. William Cohen was reappointed as township health officer; Michelle Fanelli and James Talbot, deputy health officers; Carol Thompson, zoning hearing officer.

Commissioners also adopted a resolution setting the time of the board’s general monthly meeting at 7 p.m., the third Wednesday of each month at the township municipal building, 5021 Pennell Road.
