Here in Aston Township we believe that to truly benefit the community we need to offer programs for residents of all ages. That being said, Senior Community Services has released the Spring 2013 course offerings from the Center for Life Learning. These programs are designed and offered for individuals ages 50 and over. The areas of study offered for the spring include: Art & Design, Driver Education, Literature, Fitness, Health and Wellness, and Senior Topics. Attention Residents:  The Aston Police Department has received word of a potential scam taking place up and down the East Coast of the United States.  The potential scam that has been targeting the elderly community is in the form of a phone call from, “your chimney sweep.”  In some cases the caller did not state the name of their business but led the homeowner to believe that they in fact were the company they used in the past.  Recently the suburbs of Boston, Mass., were targeted and the individuals are possibly operating under the following names. -          Aero Ventilation -          [...]

4.00 mills – No Increase

Taxes were held to 4.00 mills in Aston Township.  All parties involved worked hard again this year to pass a budget that did not include a rise in taxes.  Aston Township is committed to providing value to its residents.  Despite rising costs and the tough economy, Aston Township Board of Commissioners voted this past December to approve a resolution to hold taxes at 4.00 mills.  They gave a special thanks to Township Manager / Secretary Richard D. Lehr and Township Business Manager, Maureen Schmidt, as well as others for their hard work on balancing the budget to prevent an increase.
