As COVID-19 cases continue to grow and the state continues to seek relief to save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19, today Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine revised their “Stay at Home” orders to include Carbon, Cumberland, Dauphin and Schuylkill counties, bringing the state total to 26 counties under a stay-at-home order. Due to the COVID-19 Virus and the limited/rotating staff currently operating at the Township, after today, Friday March 20, 2020 Aston Township Public Works will only be collecting TRASH AND RECYCLING from residents.  Tree branch as well as metal and appliance collection will not continue until further notice. As of March 13, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Aston Township has issued a Declaration of Disaster Emergency due to the Coronavirus- “COVID-19”. What this means is the COVID-19 Coronavirus could endanger the health, safety and welfare of a substantial number of persons residing in Aston Township, especially our senior citizens, and create problems greater in scope than the Township may be able to resolve.

Smiles in the Playground – Thanks To Energy Transfer

As Spring approaches Aston Township would once again like to recognize Energy Transfer for the role role they played in newly completed Smiles in the Playground project. The project was made possible by a $306,466.47 donation from Energy Transfer to help build and equip the playground. Smiles in the Playground, a handicap-accessible playground that is inclusive to all children, with a special focus on those with disabilities.
