We would like to notify the residents of Aston that EcoShield has been issued six (6) peddlers permit beginning on August 12, 2026, and expiring September 14, 2026. We remind you to always ask to see a Township issued permit from anyone knocking on your door.  Additionally, if you have elected to be entered onto the Township "No Knock" list the company has been given a list and advised not to solicit at those homes. Drivers in Aston Township should prepare for daytime road closures and detours as PennDOT crews perform base repairs on Route 452 (Pennell Road) beginning Monday, August 3. A West Nile Virus positive mosquito sample was received in Aston Township, aquatic biologist from DEP is monitoring the area through larval and adult surveillance to help diminish the potential spread of West Nile.  To minimize risk, cleaning up larval habitat can have one of the largest impacts on mosquito populations.  Please remove all standing water from your property, such as artificial habitats like bird baths, tires, unsealed rain barrels, children's toy or anything else that holds stagnant water for more than 4 days as these environments can breed mosquitos. The PA Department of Environmental Protection's Mosquito-Borne Disease Control Program will be conducting a truck mounted ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control operation in Aston Township, Ridley Township, and Tinicum Township, Delaware County. Residential and recreational areas in this township will be sprayed for adult mosquitoes. Chester Water Authority (CWA) is planning to flush all public fire hydrants in the CWA distribution system in Aston Township beginning the week of July 12, 2026.  They plan to conduct this work between the hours of 9pm and 5am, Sunday night through Friday morning.  During this work, there could be brief periods where the water in the distribution system may become discolored.  Distribution system water pressure may be depressed during the hydrant flushing activity as well.
