Aston Commissioners, during a recent meeting, presented a resolution to longtime office clerk Dottie Kornafel on the event of her retirement, which became effective July 3.
Kornafel began her career as a full time clerk in the Aston Police Department in 1991 where she worked in various capacities for 10 years, including as office manager.
Kornafel then spent seven years as a part-time assistant to the township finance manager. She became a full-time employee for the township administrative department in 2007. Along with working as assistant to the finance manager, she handled all street light complaints, recycling, and was secretary to the board of health.
Kornafel also dedicated many hours to the Camp Rainbow program.
“We would like to thank Dottie for her 24 years of dedicated service to Aston Township,” said 2nd Ward Commissioner Carol Graham. “We all wish her a well deserved retirement.”
