Delaware County Government is one of several vaccine providers in the County. The County is working with all COVID-19 vaccine partners including hospitals, care homes, pharmacies, and eventually doctors’ offices and urgent cares, to get the vaccine out as quickly as possible. The shortage of vaccine supply nationwide continues to be a hurdle.

Delaware County is administering the COVID-19 vaccine at the Delaware County Wellness Center in Yeadon and at the Aston Community Center.  Vaccination is by appointment only. People who live or work in Delaware County can pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine by completing a form found on the Chester County Health Department’s COVID-19 website. An additional 1,000 volunteers are needed to support the County’s ongoing COVID-19 vaccination efforts. The Citizen Corps of Delaware County (CCDC) is planning to significantly expand its volunteer base and is currently recruiting and training to meet this critical goal. UPDATE: 12/31/2020 - Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine announced that the COVID-19 limited-time mitigation orders will expire on Jan. 4, 2021 at 8:01 AM as planned. Mitigation efforts will revert to the earlier orders originally released on Nov. 23, 2020.

At the December 16th Board of Commissioners the 2020 Holiday Decorating Contest winners were announced. Prizes for First Place and Honorable Mention for each Ward were awarded. First Place Winners will receive a $100 gift certificate to Giant. Honorable Mention Winners will receive a $50 gift certificate to WAWA. Business winners received one (1) year memberships to the Aston Business Association.

Pennsylvania businesses and residents affected by Tropical Storm Isaias on Aug. 4, 2020, can apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Administrator Jovita Carranza announced. Administrator Carranza made the loans available in response to a letter from Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf on Dec. 14, requesting a disaster declaration by the SBA.
