Replay of the Aston Township Board of Commissioners Meeting on March 17, 2021 @ 7:00PM Live Online, on the Township Website and TV Channel.  Due to Governor Wolf's order to restrict public gatherings, attendance at this meeting in the Township Building was limited to 25. We feel this will be the safest way possible to keep the residents informed as well as giving them the ability to ask questions or voice comments/concern.

Effective April 4, restaurants may resume bar service; alcohol service will be allowed without the purchase of food; the curfew for removing alcoholic drinks from tables will be lifted; and indoor dining capacity will be raised to 75 percent for those restaurants that are currently self-certified and those that undergo the self-certification process, which involves agreeing to strictly comply to all public health safety guidelines and orders, including the cleaning and mitigation protocols and other operational requirements contained in the Governor and Secretary of Health’s mitigation and enforcement orders issued on November 23, 2020, as amended. Delaware County Partners with AMI Expeditionary Healthcare to Host Long-Term COVID-19 Testing Site in Upland

The drive-thru testing clinic will be operational Tuesdays through Saturdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the U.S. Army Reserve in Upland. Up to 450 patients will be able to be tested per day using the mid-nasal passage swab PCR test.

Substitute Crossing Guards Needed

The Aston Township Police Department is currently looking for substitute crossing guards to fulfill vacant positions.  Interested candidates can apply at the Aston Township Police Department, 5021 Pennell Road., 1st Floor during normal business hours (Mon - Fri 8am to 4 pm). Joseph McGinn Appointed Second Ward Commissioner

At a special meeting of the Aston Township Board of Commissioners yesterday, Joseph McGinn, Jr. was appointed Second Ward Commissioner. Joe was sworn in by the Honorable Magisterial District Judge, Diane Holefelder, in the presence of his family. As a result of resumes being submitted by qualified individuals from the Second Ward, the Commissioners conducted interviews and selected Joe McGinn. He will complete the term of former Second Ward Commissioner Carol Graham which expires January 1, 2022. Feb. 3rd Update on COVID-19 Vaccinations in Delaware County

Delaware County Government is one of several vaccine providers in the County. The County is working with all COVID-19 vaccine partners including hospitals, care homes, pharmacies, and eventually doctors’ offices and urgent cares, to get the vaccine out as quickly as possible. The shortage of vaccine supply nationwide continues to be a hurdle.

It is with great sadness the Aston Township Board of Commissioners regrets to inform our residents of the sudden passing of Second Ward Commissioner, Carol A. Graham.  Commissioner Graham was currently serving her eleventh year as Township Commissioner.  In those eleven years the things she was able to accomplish were unmeasurable.  Commissioner Graham served as the Liaison for the Parks and Recreation Committee for the past ten years, in that time her involvement included the Township’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Bunny Brunch, Christmas Tree Lighting and Winter Fun Festival, Summer Movie Nights as well as our Hometown Concert Series.  Most [...]

Citizen Corps of Delaware County is Expanding Volunteer Recruitment to Support COVID-19 Vaccinations

An additional 1,000 volunteers are needed to support the County’s ongoing COVID-19 vaccination efforts. The Citizen Corps of Delaware County (CCDC) is planning to significantly expand its volunteer base and is currently recruiting and training to meet this critical goal. While Delaware County has already begun vaccinations for the segment of the population classified as Phase 1A (which includes healthcare workers, EMS workers, medical examiners, funeral staff, and residents and staff of long-term care facilities), the effort to vaccinate all residents of the county over the next several months will require significantly greater resources.
