Dine Out In Aston March 19th

The Aston Business Association invites you on Thursday, March 19th to participate in our spring Dine Out In Aston event to benefit the Sun Valley Post Prom.  Just dine on a participating establishment and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Sun Valley Post Prom. The Post Prom event is a long standing tradition at Sun Valley designed to provide a safe and fun environment for our local young adults to celebrate after the prom. The Aston Business Association supporting this event because we feel that keeping our children safe should be a top priority in any community.

Aston Replacing Old Street Signs with New Improved Signage

Aston Township Public Works Department Supervisor Russell Palmore displays one of the new street signs bearing the township logo. The Aston Township Vision Plan is being implemented as members of the public works department have been working hard replacing old, worn street signs with updated signs that feature the new township insignia. March 11, 2015 – by Amanda Simpson This past President’s Day (February 13th-15th, 2015), IceWorks hosted a youth ice hockey tournament featuring 93 teams competing in 17 different divisions. The IceWorks President’s Day Tournament is just one of  about a dozen large-scale national tournaments offered throughout the year at IceWorks. The first Park Master Plan Committee meeting which was previously rescheduled for Thursday, March 5th, is again being rescheduled for Tuesday, March 10th at 7:00pm in the Aston Township Commissioners Meeting Room at 5021 Pennell Road. There will be at least three committee meetings and two (2) public meetings. Aston Commissioners Honor Pubic Works Employee Gary Junkerman

Aston Commissioners, during the February 18 board of commissioners meeting, presented a proclamation and gift to public works employee Gary Junkerman in recognition of his 25 years of service to the township. Junkerman was hired on January 22, 1990 and has worked in various capacities as a public works and sanitation employee. “Gary has always been very helpful with any snow emergency that has befallen the township,” said Commissioner Jon Firlein. “We thank you for your 25 years of service.”
