Questions arose at the November 19th commissioners meeting with respect to the proposed amendment to the lease with American Tower for the cell tower located on Gamble This tower is one of the two (2) cell towers that are located on Township property. The second tower is at the municipal building property located on Pennell Road. Aston receives monthly rentals for each cell tower. The proposed lease amendment will restructure the lease with a forty-nine (49) year term. In exchange for this longer term, Aston Township will receive a lump sum payment. On Monday December 15, 2014. N. Convent Rd. in the area of 596 N. Convent Rd. will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM due to road work, installation of new sewer line. Signage will be in place alerting motorists of the road closure.

The holidays are a time of giving, but for Ralph and Camille Deberardinis, their lives revolve around volunteering and doing good deeds for others all year long. Residents of Aston Township for 42 years, Ralph and Camille prepare meals for shut-ins and for those who cannot cook for themselves, regularly drive friends and neighbors to the grocery store and doctors appointments, and help their neighbors with yard work and snow removal. Neumann University will host its annual Greccio Live Nativity Celebration on Sunday, December 7. The program, which is free and open to the public, begins at 6:15 p.m. in front of the Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development on Convent Road. Neumann students and faculty will re-enact the Franciscan tradition of the crib, performing the Live Nativity scene and the scripture narration. The program will also feature the sounds of sacred Christmas music, performed by the Holy Family Regional School Bell and Children’s Choir.
