DCIU Request for Continuance
webmaster2015-12-18T14:30:57-05:00At the request of the Aston Township Board of Commissioners, the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (the “DCIU”) held a public meeting on February 4th during which time they received a significant amount of constructive feedback that is currently being reviewed. As a result, the DCIU has requested a continuance of the Conditional Use Hearing previously scheduled for Wednesday, February 19th and all related matters, including the New Construction (land development) meeting scheduled for Monday, February 10th. This will allow the DCIU an opportunity to consider the information received from the residents before moving any further with the process.

Aston Township has prided itself for many years in having a top notch dedicated Public Works Department that go out no matter what conditions are thrown in front of them. Aston Recycling Effort

As you can see in the chart above, community members have taken our weekly recycling much more seriously in 2013 so far and it is helping the town of Aston quite a bit. Recycling does help to bring in additional revenue but that is not the most important aspect of our “green” endeavor. The restructuring of the department has allowed for township employees to spend more time out in the community checking up on permits, getting to know the contractors, residents, and developing a working relationship with the community. The scam, which has been reportedly taking place throughout the country, claims that customers are behind on their account and must make immediate payment to avoid service termination. Customers are being asked to purchase a pre-paid debit card, in random amounts, from local pharmacies or convenience stores. The customer is then directed to contact a number to utilize the card for immediate payment to their account.
