The Aston Township Board of Commissioners held an informational meeting on the proposed construction of a Traffic Roundabout at the intersection of Concord Road and Donnelly Avenue at the Aston Community Center on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. There were a number of residents that attended this meeting, the following will be the next steps to accommodate the concerns of the residents as well as find the best traffic calming solution for that location.

  • The Township Engineer will perform a further study of the intersection to research additional alternatives.  The purpose will be to look at options for restricting turns from Donnelly and the Community Center driveway, left turns from Concord Road, the site distance issues both east and west and pedestrian movements.
  • The township, thru its grant coordinator is contacting PennDOT to see if we can get an extension to the current grant that expires at the end of 2023, while we are working on the alternatives analysis.
  • For those that didn’t attend the meeting, the full presentation will be available for viewing on the township website.
  • Once the alternatives analysis is completed and reviewed by the Commissioners, a second public meeting will be scheduled.
