Recently we have received many phone calls, emails or social media inquiries as to why recycling was not collected at your home. As a part of the Aston Township Single Stream Recycling Program, the dump site the recycling collected is taken to DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY PLASTIC BAGS no matter the color or type. If there are plastic bags or contaminated items (ie: pizza boxes with food remains on them) the dump site will charge the Township for the error. Some have complained their recycling was thrown in the trash truck instead of the recycling truck; if there is any form of trash, food, plastic bags or food contaminated recycling it will be thrown in the trash truck opposed to recycling to avoid a fine.
