As mentioned at the May Board of Commissioners monthly meeting Aston Township will be discontinuing its second trash pick-up through the summer months beginning this year, 2023. This comes after much time was spent reviewing and evaluating trash and tonnage reports from previous years, repair/maintenance invoices to the trash trucks and comments from the public.
We know this is a service our residents have been accustomed to and utilize so to help adjust to the change there will be a small dumpster placed at the Public Works Facility at 1 Catania Way that may be accessed during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 9am to 12pm), during the months of July and August. This dumpster is to be used for disposal of trash only. Bulk trash, metal/appliances and electronics (tv’s) are not permitted as the dumpster will be monitored by the Public Works Department as well as a camera.
