On October 21, 2015 the Aston Township Board of Commissioners passed resolution Resolution #2015-127 to implement a temporary curfew from 9:00 p.m. to sunrise for persons under the age of eighteen (18) begining on Friday, October 30, 2015 through Sunday, November 1, 2015. In recent years this measure has proved to be useful in reducing the number of criminal mischief offenses reported at Halloween time.

Township leaf collection will begin on October 26 and run through December 18th. Biodegradable leaf bags will be available in the township building. Seniors (age 62 and over) may receive up to five (5) biodegradable leaf bags for FREE. All other residents may choose to purchase bags from the township for $1.50 for five (5) bags or purchase them from a local home center.

A public hearing regarding a change of zoning district for the proposed Star Hill development located north of five points on Pennell Road will be held on November 23, 2015 at 7:00PM in the Commissioner's Meeting Room in the Aston Township Municipal Building at 5021 Pennell Road. The property had previously been changed to Institutional District to accommodate condominium units, which in addition to being Age Restricted, contained Assisted living and Continuing Care Units. In early 2015 the Board of Commissioners established a volunteer committee to assist the Township engineer and administration in preparing a Township Parks Master Plan. On October 13, 2015 the committee submitted a draft of it's proposed Township Parks & Recreation Plan. The plan will be presented to the public at the regular BOC meeting on Wednesday October 21st. A pubic hearing will be held on November 18 after which the Board will consider adopting the plan.
