Movement Update at the Grace Property on Pennell Road.

It has been brought to our attention residents concerns regarding movement at the site of the Grace Property on Pennell Road. Be advised, we are aware of this movement and it is NOT the project moving forward. The property owner is cutting down some quality trees without disturbing the soil or removing stumps. As always, if you have any questions regarding happenings in the Township, do not hesitate to contact the Township Building. 610-494-1636.

Green Light Go Traffic Signal Improvement Grant on Pennell Road and Concord Road

The work currently under way on Pennell Road is being handled through PennDOT as a Green Light Go 50% Match Grant.  The project includes the following intersections on Pennell Road – Glendale Boulevard, Knowlton Road, Lehr Boulevard, Marianville/Weir, Hall Drive, Dutton’s Mill (& Lamp Post Lane), and Springbrook Boulevard.  Additionally, the following Concord Road intersections will be included – Aston Mills & Convent Roads, Lehr Boulevard, Dutton’s Mill Road, Pancoast Avenue, and Bridgewater Road. Aston Township would like to announce that today at the Board of Commissioners Special Meeting, Nancy Bowden of the 5th Ward was appointed to fulfill the unexpired term of James W. McGinn.  We would like to extend our  thanks to all of those that applied for the position. On-going Vo-Tech Construction

Aston Township wishes to advise the residents affected by the  on-going construction in the area of the Vo-Tech that we are aware of your concerns. We are working with Commissioner Graham to address these issues.  Residents should also be aware that Emergency Services including Police, Fire and EMS response  should not be  affected by the construction.

Lenni Road Closure Update

Beginning Monday, August 27 until approximately mid-November, Lenni Road will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians 24 hours a day from below Station Lane to below the Chester Creek Trail.  As part of SEPTA’s Elwyn-to-Wawa Service Restoration Project, crews will be replacing and upgrading the Lenni Road rail grade crossing and regarding the approaching roadway to improve sightlines. Governor Wolf Announces Funding To Renovate Aston Township Fire Department

Governor Tom Wolf announced today that the firehouse, formally known as Green Ridge Fire House, now Aston Township Fire Department in Aston, Delaware County, will use new state funding to quadruple the size of its fire house enabling it to better provide the services necessary to keep members of the local community safe.  Aston Township was awarded a $1 million grant to expand the Aston Township Fire Department from 5,250 square feet to 20,680 square feet and complete renovations to modernize the 30-year-old building.
