Aston Commissioners, during the October 19 meeting, recognized township resident Andrew Gill on his promotion to Eagle Scout. The son of Brian and Janemarie Gill, Andrew is a senior at Sun Valley High School. His Eagle Scout project involved planning, supervising and painting two pre-K classrooms at Holy Family Regional Catholic School in Aston. With assistance from adult scout leaders, fellow scouts, friends and family, the classrooms were painted prior to the beginning of the school year. Aston Commissioners, during the Sept. 21 meeting, named the Aston Police Department as 2016 Citizens of the Year. Aston Township Police Department will be selling "I Support Aston Police" pins. The pins cost $1.00 and ALL of the proceeds are being donated to Neighbors Helping Neighbors. The pins can be purchased at the Aston Police Department located at 5021 Pennell Road, also depending on availability they will be sold at Community Day on October 1, 2016.
