Installation of Lights at Weir Park

The Township has received the voting ballots that were to be sent back by March 11th in regards to lights being installed on the Majors field at Weir Park.  After calculating the ballots it has been decided by the residents votes that the lighting project has passed.  The second round of the project will be to design where the lights will be placed, cost of purchasing and also exploring funding options.

Rockdale Art District Open House – April 13, 2019

Join us on April 13th from 11am to 5pm as we celebrate the arts at our Open House. Rockdale Art Center will host activities for families and music by Makin’ Music Rockin Rhythms. Dutchman Fountains will have fountains and statuary on display and for purchase. And Heron Crest Studios and 2 New Road Studios will have open artist studios with artwork for sale. There will be food and music throughout the day.

Aston Lioness Club Fashion Show

The Aston Lioness Club Presents Spring Fashion Show & Shopping Event.

The event will be held at the Aston Community Center, 3270 Concord Road. Aston, Pa 19014 on Sunday, April 28, 2019from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The admittance cost is $10 per person, with light refreshments included.  Credit Card, Checks and Cash Accepted, Fashions by Taylor Marie’s with 10% of clothing sales benefitting the Aston Lioness.

Aston Sports Hall of Fame 20th Anniversary Awards Banquet

Please join us in celebrating the Aston Sports Hall of Fame’s 20th Anniversary Reunion Banquet!

We would like to have as many of our Past Inductees present o applaud this years awards class and to “RECONNECT WITH OLD FRIENDS”!

Chester Creek Phase II Update

Aston Township and Commissioner Bowden would like to inform residents that the County has engaged Wilson Consulting Group and their subcontractor Skelly and Loy to complete all necessary design, engineering and permitting for Phase II of the Chester Creek Trail.  This next segment of the trail will run from the end of the existing trail at Creek Road for approximately 1.5 miles south to a point at or before Bridgewater Road.

Residents can expect to see workers out in the field as soon as late February 2019 to survey the site.  Activity on the design phase of this project is expected to carry into early 2020.  Workers will be wearing yellow vests and have identification as well as documentation that the County/SEPTA has authorized them to enter the railroad right-of-way.

February, 2019 Commissioner’s Meeting

Land Development Update February 25, 2019

The following land development project are now active:

Burger King Demolition and Taco Bell Rebuild

The franchise owner of the Aston Burger King located at 5012 Pennell Road appeared before the Aston Township Zoning Hearing Board on January 22, 2019 and was granted variances to the ordinance for free standing signs, the number and size of menu board signs, the number of building signs and the number of parking spaces. The next steps in the process are for the developer to appear before the Aston Township Planning Commission on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 7PM and the New Construction Committee on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 6:30PM to review land development plans for the Burger King Demolition and construction of a Taco Bell Drive-Thru Restaurant.

Aston Township Public Works Complex

The Southwest Delaware County Municipal Authority located at 1 Gamble Lane, Aston is subdividing 4.09 acres of their total 11.33-acre parcel for the proposed construction of a new Public Works Complex for Aston Township. The subdivision phase does not include any construction activities. However, the Public Works Department will relocate from their current complex at 5021 Pennell Road after construction is completed. The Authority will appear before the Aston Township Planning Commission on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 7PM and the New Construction Committee on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 6:30PM to review their subdivision plans.

The Aston Planning Commission Meeting and the New Construction Meeting will be held in the Commissioners Meeting Room at 5021 Pennell Road. Both are public meetings and residents are invited to attend and comment.

BINGO Presented By The 1st & 11th District Fire Police

Come out and join the 1st & 11th District Fire Police as they hold a Cash/Prize Bingo night on Saturday, March 30, 2019.  This event will be held at the Aston Township Community Center, 3270 Concord Road. Aston, Pa., doors will open at 5 p.m. games beginning at 6 p.m.  Tickets are available for $25 per person if purchased in advance or $30 per person if available for purchase at the door (if available).  Reserved tables are available for groups of eight (8) or more.  Read more
