Aston Township 1st Annual Holiday Decorating Winners Announced

The Aston Township Parks and Recreation Committee in conjunction with the township board of commissioners, is pleased to announce the first place and honorable mention winners in the inaugural township holiday decorating contest. The holiday decorating contest ran through December 20 when teams of impartial judges were dispersed throughout each ward in the township to determine this year's winners. Two residences in each ward were selected to receive a first place award of a $100 gift card to Giant Market and honorable mention winners received a $50 gift card to Wawa.

Aston Welcomes the Holidays With Tree Lighting and Winter Festival

by Loretta Rodgers. More than 500 Aston residents attended the township’s annual tree lighting and winter festival, which took place December 4 at the community center. Prior to the lighting of the township Christmas tree, songs of the season were performed by the Aston and Pennell Elementary Choirs. After the tree was lit, Santa Claus made his grand entrance riding high above an Aston Township fire truck. The Aston Township Fire Department regrets to announce the death of Active Member Scott Jones. Scott was an 18 year member of the Aston Township Fire Department where he held the ranks of Lieutenant, Assistant Engineer and Trustee.
