By Loretta Rodgers Patriot’s Day 2014 The Aston Township community gathered Sept. 11 at the Memorial Gardens at Five Points to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Hosted by Township Boy Scout Troops 225 and 292, Girl Scout Troop 57075 and members of American Legion Post #926, the program included speeches, dedication of a wreath, readings, and memorials. Conditional Use Hearing Scheduled for October 28, 2014

We have, been advised by the attorney for the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, Vincent B. Mancini & Associates,that the DCIU’s Engineer is in the process of amending revised plans submitted to the Township on February 4, 2014. These plans have not been reviewed because in February,2014, the DCIU requested that we pause all land development activities. Mr. Mancini has confirmed that the Conditional Use Hearing will be held on October 28th at the Aston Township Community Center, 3270 Concord Road, Aston PA. beginning at 7:00 PM.

Valley View Park Renovation Project

Aston Township has made application for a Greenways, Trails, and Recreational Program (GTRP) Grant through the Commonwealth Financing Authority for restoration of Valley View Park. Valley View Park (aka Vinsmith Park) located in the Township’s Seventh Ward comprises 3.024 acres of open space land, most of which is grassy areas. The park is completely surrounded by predominantly ranch homes on Vinsmith, Edgar and Raymond Avenues, and Stella Lane, with the main entrance at Vinsmith and Bonsall Avenues.
