The William Rush Wood Carvers would like to extend an invitation to everyone from beginners to experts and anyone interested in carving. Carving is our common ground, but the sharing of knowledge, techniques, help and encouragement are truly what makes the meeting times and the club special! On Tuesday September 3, 2024 a meeting was held at the Community Center for the Aston 5th ward residents in Pennell Manor that will be directly affected by the development 104-106 Pennell Road. known as Star Hill.  The developers were there to answer questions for residents as well as Commissioner Bowden, Township Manager, Assistant Manager, Township Solicitor and Engineer. Earlier this year, Christiana Care announced that they were planning to build three neighborhood hospitals in the Philadelphia Suburbs. As such, I am pleased to announce that one of the neighborhood hospitals will be located right here in Aston Township. The hospital will be located at 700 North Turner Way which is directly across Dutton Mill Road from the IceWorks skating facility. Please see the below message from Joe Connolly from SEPTA: As ridership on Regional Rail continues to grow, particularly on weekends, SEPTA is restoring 123 trains – 99 weekend trains and 24 weekday trains – when new fall timetables go into effect this Sunday, September 8. With our area continuing to be in a heat advisory until 8 p.m. Wednesday, we would like to remind residents that the Community Center is always available to be used as a cooling and charging location.  Plan for ways to keep yourself and your family members cool during this extended stretch of dangerous heat. Construction Notice for the Community Center

We would like to advise the public that with the construction of the new Township and Police building beginning, there could be a noticeable amount of construction traffic.  We urge you to use extra caution while entering and exiting the main driveway for the Community Center.  We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause currently we believe that a majority of the work will be mobilization and site work with the building construction beginning sometime in August, we will be sure to keep everyone apprised to the status of work that will be taking place.  If you have any [...]
