SEPTA has informed us that there will be overnight train movement through the Lenni Road Crossing on Friday August 30th into early Saturday August 31st.  SEPTA will be towing a West Chester Railroad locomotive from West Chester into Philadelphia on the Media/Wawa Line.  Sometime after midnight, a SEPTA diesel locomotive with up to four flatbed cars will pass through the crossing traveling outbound.  The train will connect to the West Chester Railroad locomotive near Glen Mills and return back through the crossing before 4a.m.  As per FRA requirements, the train will sound its horn approaching the crossing in both directions.

To safely perform this train movement, it must be done when SEPTA service is not running.

SEPTA crews will also be working on the track in the area of Darlington Road to remove the track bumper to allow the train to travel outbound to connect to the locomotive.  Once the inbound train passes heading toward Philadelphia, crews will reinstall the safety bumper.  This work will include the use of a swing arm crane and there will be vehicles with back up alarms, as well as safety lighting.  Work in this area should conclude by 4 a.m.
