Governor Wolf Amends The ‘Stay at Home’ Order – Through April 30, 2020

As COVID-19 cases continue to grow and the state continues to seek relief to save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19, today Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine revised their “Stay at Home” orders to include Carbon, Cumberland, Dauphin and Schuylkill counties, bringing the state total to 26 counties under a stay-at-home order. Due to the COVID-19 Virus and the limited/rotating staff currently operating at the Township, after today, Friday March 20, 2020 Aston Township Public Works will only be collecting TRASH AND RECYCLING from residents.  Tree branch as well as metal and appliance collection will not continue until further notice. We appreciate and thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this difficult time.

Governor Tom Wolf today requested that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) implement an SBA disaster declaration to provide assistance in the form of SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans for businesses and eligible non-profits in all 67 counties in Pennsylvania. “The impact of financial losses related to COVID-19 will be felt for years to come,” said Gov. Pennsylvania Workers Affected by COVID-19 May be Eligible for Unemployment and Workers’ Compensation Benefits

Harrisburg, PA – Workers in Pennsylvania who are impacted by COVID-9 may be eligible for Unemployment and Workers’ Compensation benefits, Secretary of Labor & Industry (L&I) Jerry Oleksiak announced today. Declaration of Disaster Emergency – Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As of March 13, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Aston Township has issued a Declaration of Disaster Emergency due to the Coronavirus- “COVID-19”. What this means is the COVID-19 Coronavirus could endanger the health, safety and welfare of a substantial number of persons residing in Aston Township, especially our senior citizens, and create problems greater in scope than the Township may be able to resolve.
