At the December 21, 2022 Board of Commissioners meeting the final 2023 budget was presented to the public by Commissioner John Dougherty. The budget will be voted on at the Aston Township End of the Year Special Board of Commissioners Meeting scheduled for December 29, 2022 at 3 p.m. This meeting will be held at 2 New Road., Suite 123. Aston, Pa., Oct. 31, 2022 — Aston Township and Crozer Health have come to an agreement to maintain the current advanced life support (ALS) medic provided by Crozer Health at the Aston Fire Department. These services will be provided at no additional cost to Aston Township and the Aston Township taxpayers. In April 2022, former Crozer CEO, Kevin Spiegel, issued a letter to Aston Township officials and other Delaware County municipalities indicating that Crozer Health may have to discontinue paramedic services if a new funding agreement could not be reached. The Township will be returning to its normal leaf bag collection. As done in the past leaf bags are available for purchase at the Township Building (2 New Rd. Ste 123.) and also at the Community Center due to the New Road. bridge set to be closed on Monday, October 31st during regular business hours. The bags are being sold for $3.00 which consists of a bundle of five (5) bags, senior citizens will receive their first bundle of bags for free, we ask if you are picking the bag up at the Community Center to please bring exact change. This year, Aston Township and the Parks and Recreation Committee have decided to add a winter camp for a week during winter break from school. Camp will be open to ALL Aston residents in first through fifth grade, being held December 26th until December 30th drop off is at 8:15am and pick up is 12:30pm. Registration will begin on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Aston Township Community Day, a table will be present with our Camp Director and Assistant Director there to accept applications, payment and to answer any questions you may have. At the Board of Commissioners meeting on September 21, 2022 a presentation was given by Commissioner Dougherty in regards to the ongoing acquisition of 43 acres of land from the Sisters of Saint Francis. The specific work is part of the Delcora I&I removal project that is being done in our service area. This project is part of the renegotiated contract that we settled as part of the Aqua purchase of Delcora. There are sewer line repairs (including grouting, slip lining and open trench repairs) that will be happening over the next six months or so. All sewer repairs that are taking place are within the Authority's sewer easements, some of which are located on resident's properties. The contractors involved are AJ Jurich (open trench repairs) and Standard Pipe Services (grouting and slip lining repairs). [...]
